Food-Safe Clay Saucer

A simple, traditional clay saucer selected especially for preparing Hildegardian herbal remedies in which herbs are gently warmed or burned and may be consumed afterward.

We introduced this saucer in response to questions from our customers about finding a food-safe clay vessel for preparing the traditional fennel-and-dill mixture, a simple Hildegardian preparation used for sinus discomfort and congestion that can easily be made at home.

Fennel-Dill Mixture

The traditional mixture is prepared using:

10 g fennel greens (1 part)
40 g dill (4 parts)

The herbs are combined and used according to the preparation instructions for this Hildegardian remedy.

Handcrafted in Poland by an experienced pottery maker, this ceramic saucer is made from natural clay and is approved for contact with food. The pottery has been evaluated by the Polish National Institute of Public Health (PZH) and meets applicable requirements for food-contact use.

We introduced this saucer because the vessel used for preparing herbs matters—particularly when the herbs are intended to be consumed following preparation. Rather than using a decorative flowerpot saucer or another ceramic piece not specifically intended for food, this little dish provides a purpose-made, food-contact option for your Hildegardian remedy cabinet.
