"(...) a person who has mucosy fever in his stomach, from which a variety of ague increases, should cook arum root in pure wine and then permit it to cool, Afterward, he should put a hot piece of steel in that wine, and in that way reheat it. He should drink the warm potion, ans it will take away the mucus in his stomach and the fever, just as fire melts snow.

And a person in whom melancholy rages, who has a fierce mind, and who is always sad, should also frequently drink wine cooked with the arum root. His melancholy and fever will diminish."

Indications: gastric insufficiency, and inflammation and degeneration of the gastric mucosa, as well as depression, melancholy, and menopausal symptoms (hot flashes and mood swings)

Preparation: 12.5g/ 0.5 oz of Cuckoo Pint root boil in 1 L / 34 fl oz. of wine for 5 minutes. 

Dosage: 20 ml three times daily.

In treating gastric issues, warm drink in a steel container before consuming. When treating symptoms of depression and melancholy, there is no need to warm the drink with steel. 

Store in a cool, dry place.
