Garlic Butter with Galangal & Fresh Herbs

Hildegard's Way

Ingredients:

  • 1 stick of butter (room temperature)
  • 1/2 teaspoon galangal
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1–2 garlic cloves, pressed or finely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 teaspoon fresh chives, chopped

Instructions:

  1. Place the softened butter in a bowl.
  2. Add galangal, salt, minced garlic, parsley, and chives.
  3. Blend everything together until smooth and well combined. A fork works beautifully—and is much easier to clean afterward—but you can also use a hand mixer for an extra light texture.
  4. Taste and adjust seasoning if desired.

Serving Suggestions:
Enjoy this aromatic butter spread on warm spelt buns or breads, over spelt crackers or bagels, or stir a spoonful into chopped spelt during cooking for added richness and depth.
